The Journey from Digital Media to Dalgona Coffee to my Inner Peace

It all was oozing from December 2019, and it was all at its peak in March 2020. The arrival of the deadly Coronavirus. Eventually, the entire world came to pause, streets were barren, shops closed, vehicles at complete rest, offices shut and everyone locked down at their home. Chaos everywhere, people were scared, panicked, and anxious about what next?

Soon work from home started. It was something new for me. As in the teaching profession, I used to have physical interactions with students. Now virtually teaching them was a task. I had to install many apps and had to learn using them. With all the efforts, the saga of online working started. Now hold on, it wasn't only teaching, virtual meetings followed every day for 2-3 hours. Our college working timings were somewhat fixed but online working was a complete disaster in my life. A thought just ran my mind, are we going to build Rome in a day?

This one is for IT professionals from the core of my heart, hats off to you guys. We all envy the high packages they draw but their 24×7 work schedule, erratic meeting hours, and coping with time zone differences take a toll on their physical and mental health.
The struggle with the virtual world was on and the rest of my time was a tough fight to get groceries, vegetables, and fruits. Sometimes in the evening checking my social media to be précised Facebook, I got to see loads of e-Workshop, e-Certification, and e-Lectures. Some peoples were organizing it, many attending it but what made me laugh was the people were puking on social media with the certificates achieved by them. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry was getting crazy. I still didn't understand the sense of all this.

One more thing that attracted my attention was Dalgona Coffee. I swear I didn't know about this coffee before. My daughter is going to be a future chef so I asked her about it. I thought it was nectar for life against COVID, the way it was been flooded all over social media. Then suddenly there was a wave of all women becoming Certified Chef. The pictures of homemade dishes made me more anxious and I was wondering how come those people posting all those delicious stuff while I was struggling to get basic stuff to cook.

Instagram stories were something different celebrities posting pictures of they doing their housework, workouts and not to forget spouse giving haircuts. Till her everything was cute but some people which I know started posting their spouse doing their haircut and the message after that cut. God give me a break must the shriek from Facebook and Instagram. Seriously I feel there is a lot of scope for research on human psychology.

I am happy with myself that I was not provoked to do all such things. Instead, I invested in my body-mind-soul. I breathe, paused, and contemplated. I learned to calm myself, and I enjoy the pause that nature gave us. Sometimes we humans don't get or give time to ourselves. Nature has its way to make us realize what's going wrong. In our daily fast pace and rat race life, we forget to take a break and tune with nature. So with this halt, I could enjoy the chirping of birds against the loud honking of the vehicles, the smell of the wet mud, cool breeze, silence, clear sky, the sunrise, and the sunset. It is an everyday phenomenon happening around us but when concentrated on it, was so serene and peaceful. This is what true happiness is when you are in tune with nature.

We all aroused from the dust and shall melt in this dust. Let's make harmony with ourselves and with nature and be one.
